Ferrari preparing track-oriented 599 GTO? |

Ferrari, as well as almost any other supercar manufacturer, usually release hardcore, track-oriented version of all of their models. Such is the case with most of the Scuderia models or those with the XX badge.

According to recent rumors, the 599 GTB Fiorano will be the next target for improvement by the engineers at Ferrari, as leaked pre-order information reveal a 599 GTO (named after the iconic 250 GTO) Limited Edition, which might go head to head with the special editions from Lamborghini.

Voices are already confirming that this future model will use many of the carbon-fiber body elements and technologies presented in the 599 XX concept (pictured above) during this year’s Geneva Motor Show, and rumors peg anything from 680 to 700 HP being squeezed from the massive V12 engine of the 599, overtaking the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce in terms of power.

Pricing will be, as expected, much higher than your average 599 and are estimated at around $400,000. The official reveal is also expected to take place at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, in March next year.
