Carlsson C25 Royale Mercedes SL65 AMG

Many tuning companies brought their latest creations at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and Carlsson wasn’t going to miss this opportunity to show us their latest project. The C25 Royale is based on the Mercedes SL65 AMG and it is a heavily customized coupe that has a fixed rooftop. Carlsson said that they are going to make only 25 units of the C25 Royale and 6 of them have been already sold and will be delivered to their buyers this year. They also said that after the order has been placed, the customer has to wait six months.

The C25 Royale is 180 kg lighter than the SL65 AMG thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber on the fixed roof and on the bonnet. Not only the weight is down but the car’s center of gravity has been lowered, which means that the handling should be a little bit better.

In order to lower the weight, they’ve replaced the SL65’s standard brakes with a full ceramic brake system that is 50% lighter. The car features a Carlsson-developed C-Tronic Suspension system that is capable of detecting the road conditions and driving style and act accordingly. To give you an example, on bad roads, the C25 Royale is raised in order to offer better ride comfort.

With these hardware specifications, the Carlsson C25 Royale can sprint to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 219 mph (352 km/h).
