Irmscher 7 SELECTRA

Earlier this week we’ve mentioned that the German tuner Irmscher will bring to Geneva an electric-powered concept based on their 7 Turbo Roadster model. This classic Lotus 7 type car has a 144V DC motor that is capable of producing 235 hp (238 PS / 175 kW) and a whopping 590 lb.-ft (800 Nm) of torque. Battery power comes from lithium-ion phosphate cells (aka LiFePo). This liquid-cooled battery can be charged/discharged for thousands of times and little power is loss at low temperatures.

The coolest thing about this battery is that it can be charged wirelessly. Depending upon the charger’s capacity, the car’s battery can be charged to 80% in less than 60 minutes and 100% in 3-8 hours. When the battery is full, the driving range of the Irmscher 7 SELECTRA is 124 miles (200 km).

The automaker plans on rolling out a production version with a base price that will be less than 90,000 Euros. The conventional-powered model that has 210 hp costs from 55,900 Euros.
