Geneva 2011 – Lotus Elise Club Racer –

Lotus Elise Club Racer

The new Lotus Elise Club Racer has made its official debut this week at the 81st edition of the Geneva Motor Show. The engineers at Lotus used a lightweight battery and removed the noise insulation material in order to shave off 24 kg from the weight of the car which now has a curb weight of only 1,878 lbs (852 kg).

A premier for a Lotus model is the Sport setting to the Dynamic Performance Management (DPM) traction control system. Created for less-experienced drivers, it provides more intervention on the track. This will not affect more experienced drivers as they can simply turn it off. The automaker is also offering a more aggressive sport suspension with a set of Bilstein dampers, Eibach springs and an adjustable anti-roll bar.

The base price for this model will be 34,450 Euros / 27,500 Pounds / CHF 48,900.
