Renault Twizy

During the first day of the 81st Geneva Motor Show, the French automaker Renault announced that the Twizy 1+1 tandem-seat electric vehicle will be available at dealerships by the end of this year and it will have a base price of $9,500, including taxes. In some countries, the EV might be a little bit cheaper as it will qualify for incentives.

Just like with the Kangoo Z.E. and the Fluence Z.E., customers will be able to lease the car’s battery for a monthly fee of $62 for an annual distance of 4,660 miles (7,500 km). According to the automaker, this distance covers the majority of regular motorists’ requirements.

Putting the monthly costs for the battery aside, the tandem-seat EV’s costs are approximated by Renault to be 15% lower in comparison to a three-wheeler scooter. They took into consideration the energy, maintenance and the insurance.
