RUF Rt 12

You probably know by now that RUF is a German tuner that loves rolling out performance packages for just about all the Porsche models. Their latest creation was unveiled this week in Geneva and is based on the 911 model. Dubbed Rt 12, the 3.8-liter Boxer engine was fitted with a twin-turbo that increases the output to an impressive 720 hp (730 PS / 537 kW) and 693 lb.-ft (940 Nm) of torque.

This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and all this horsepower is sent to all the four wheels, with an optional rear-drive only setting available. RUF also installed an adjustable suspension and according to the tuning company, the Rt 12 can hit a top speed of 230 mph (370 km/h).

The exterior look of the 911 has been updated with a carbon fiber rear spoiler, along with the hood and the front mudguards that are made out from the same lightweight material. To lower the car’s weight, they’ve also installed aluminum-made doors and plastic side and rear windows. As an optional feature, customers can get a carbon fiber roof. With this strict diet, the Porsche 911 has a curb weight of only 3295 lbs (1495 kg).

They’ve also added a brand new set of forged aluminum rims with central locking in dimensions 9Jx19-inch (front) and 12Jx19-inch (back). These wheels are wrapped around in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup rubber that measure 245/35 ZR 19 in the front and 325/30 ZR 19 in the back. To stop this monster, the German tuner fitted the 911 with ceramic brakes that have 380 mm discs in the front and 350 mm discs for the rear wheels.

The cabin is dominated by the carbon fiber bucket seats and the headliner integrated roll cage with cross brace (IRC).
