Skoda VisionD Concept

Last week we’ve mentioned that Skoda will introduce its new VisionD Design Study at the 81st edition of the Geneva Motor Show. With this concept, the automaker wants to drop its old style language in exchange for a fresh new bolder corporate design direction. The target is to highlight the company’s green line up while at the same time differentiate the brand from the rest of the car makers in the VW Group.

The first concept born under Skoda’s new design direction is the VisionD which has a simple and clean design, something that we will be seeing in future models. With an unobtrusive and taut design, the car looks pretty good in my humble opinion. The Czech company managed to emulate a class and sophistication that we usually see in more premium (aka more expensive) models. I really like the sharper, more dominant grill that we usually see in upper-segment cars.

Along with the new concept, Skoda also introduced their new logo which no longer has a natural green color pattern as they opted for a “SKODA Green” with a chrome contour. The idea behind this new logo and language design is to highlight the automaker’s growing strength on the automotive market.
