Smart ForSpeed Concept

As we previously mentioned, Smart brought to this year’s Geneva Motor Show their latest concept, the ForSpeed. Designed in order to show the future potential of the company’s transmission choices, the concept also gives us a clue about how will the upcoming generation of the ForTwo and the ForFour will look like.

Smart ForSpeed Concept

This concept features a 40 hp (40 PS / 30 kW) electric motor that sends all of the power to the rear wheels. The driver has the possibility to use the 7 hp (7 PS / 5 kW) boost, but nothing spectacular will happen On a single charge, the Smart ForSpeed Concept can be driven for up to 84 miles (135 km) and it can reach a top speed of 75 mph (120 km/h).

The model was exhibited at Smart’s booth in Geneva next to a new all-electric scooter / bicycle that the company plans on introducing in 2012. The new generation of the ForTwo and the 5-door ForFour will be launched sometime in 2014.
