Approximately five months ago, Jeep introduced the standard version of the new generation of the Grand Cherokee and now they announced that they will be bringing the hot SRT8 version of the popular SUV in the United Kingdom.
Priced at 58,995 pounds the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is motivated by a new HEMI V8 6.4-liter engine that churns 465 hp and a peak torque of 465 lb.-ft (630 Nm). This power unit enables the car to do the 0-62 mph sprint in only 4.8 seconds, on its way to a maximum speed rated at 160 mph (257 km/h). The car will brake from 60 mph to a full stop in 116 ft.

That impressive horsepower is sent to all wheels through the Quadra-Trac AWD system that is able to transfer up to 100% of the available torque to one rear wheel. The SUV also has adaptive damping suspension along with the 5-mode Selec-Track system which is able to tune the car’s dynamics according to the conditions of the road.
As standard, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 comes with adaptive cruise control, active head restraints, rain brake support and forward collision warning support.

In related news, Jeep has also introduced in the United Kingdom a new version of the Grand Cherokee Overland series which wears the name Summit and comes with a 3.0-liter diesel engine. This one will set you back starting with 44,795 pounds and has a Rugged Brown exterior finish with a fully chromed grille and fog lamp bezels. It rides on 20-inch alloys while the interior cabin comes with a two-tone black lower / saddle upper interior trim, ventilated and heated Nappa leather seats colored in saddle with perforated inserts, along with bespoke stitching as well as Berber floor mats that have black & chestnut accent binding.
