Jeep will use Alfa Romeo Giulietta platform for new models |

Hmm, that new Alfa Romeo Giulietta hatchback model is definitely something right? Looking great and using a versatile platform, it will certainly make plenty of European customers happy. But don’t worry US consumers, you’ll also get a taste of it … in a Jeep!

That’s right, part of the new alliance between Fiat and Chrysler will include platform sharing, and it seems that Jeep has chosen the Giulietta platform for the new models it has in mind. Now before your cry “blasphemy!” and think of the more unfortunate models like the Jeep Compass or Patriot from the Daimler-Chrysler era, the new platform has quite a lot of traits, and not only supports increasing the weight or length of the model, but also a four-wheel drive system.

According to some rumors, Jeep is targeting the urban market, and with this new platform, it might create some interesting models. Hopefully we’ll know more soon.
