Lamborghini company had been founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini in the Italian village Sant’Agata Bolognese, a village between Bologna and Modena. His company was making tractors, the best quality of all. All had to be changed when Ferruccio went to the factory of Enzo Ferrari fin Maranello. Lamborghini went there to confront Enzo regarding the malfunction of the transmission of a Ferrari 250 owned by Lamborghini. Ferrari told him that the problem is not the car but the driver.
Lamborghini got very angry about this and went back to his factory and he dismembered the Ferrari car and discovered that Enzo Ferrari used the same transmission that he was using to manufacture his tractors. Lamborghini decided to create a car to be the feared enemy of the Ferrari car. So along with Giotto Bizzarrini, Gian Paolo Dallara and Franco Scaglione made the GTV prototype in 1963.
In 1964 Lamborghini launched the 350 GT model and in 1966 the 400 GT model. Because of the fact that they got profit from these two models, Lamborghini succeeded to finance his future projects. In 1966 Lamborghini presented his first car at auto show in Geneva, and its name was Lamborghini Miura. Miura was the first car that puted the Lamborghini company on the map of the exotic cars.
The next model was Lamborghini Espada, named this way after the sword of the Spanish matadors. Espada had a V12 engine of 4.0 liters capable to propels a car to a maximum speed of 140 km/h, that was very impressive if we remember that the car was launched back in 1968.
Between 1968 and 1970 was launched Lamborghini Islero. The Lamborghini Islero was the perfect sport car of the moment so for this reason it was produced for almost three years.

In 1971 was presented to the world the model Lamborghini Countach. Countach became from an Italian dialect that express the surprise. This name comes from Nuccio Bertone that was extremely surprised when he saw this type of model for the first time. This Lamborghini Countach was the first Lamborghini with vertical doors opening.
In 1972 Lamborghini was pushed to sell a part of his tractor company because it bankrupts after a canceled order by a south American state and in 1978 Lamborghini declared the total bankrupt. The company was bought by the Mimran brothers. In that period Lamborghini was selling only Countach, LM 002 and Jalpa.
In 1987 Lamborghini was bought by the American company Chrysler. Under the leadership of Chrysler Lamborghini created the Diablo model. American leaders introduced also the comfort to this car, thing that was totally missing until that moment.
In 1994 Chrysler was pushed to sell the Lamborghini company because of the economic and political crises, Lamborghini being bought by the Megatech company, an Indonesian company ruled by the younger son of the Indonesian president. Under the ruling of Megatech, Lamborghini reinvented the Diablo model by creating the Diablo SV model (SV meaning Sport Veloce), a model with V12 engine of 525 horse power.
In 1997 Lamborghini was sold to Audi AG. Because of the German technology, Lamborghini became one of the most wanted super cars. Under the ruling of Audi were launched the models Murcielago, Gallardo and Reventon.
