The 2011 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 comes with important innovations which involve the body design and the mechanical components, including the braking system, the electronic components and the suspension. As its name reveals, the Murcielago LP640 is equipped with a new engine placed in the “longitudinale posteriore” area, able to produce 640 horsepower.

The exterior design of this 2011 Lamborghini Murcielago follows the traditional principles of the Italian automaker, including purism, sport and functionality. As a result, the Murcielago LP640 looks more aggressive with its new front and rear bumpers along with the exhaust system terminal which is incorporated into the diffuser. The list of innovations made by the engineers on the 2011 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 includes also the rear lights making it even easier to distinguish the car at night.

Lamborghini Murcielago 2011

The design of the sides, especially on the left side is incredible. The left side features a vast aperture to cool the oil radiator while the area behind the air intakes on the right side seems to be closed. The entire exterior design with its aerodynamic components well accentuated, maintains the opinion that the shape of a Lamborghini is always given by functionality. The 2011 Lamborghini Murcielago benefits also from new rear view mirrors and new windscreen wipers to improve the aerodynamics while the Hermera wheel rims are made of light metal being equipped with Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires. But the well known scissor doors are still in place, made of sheet steel and honeycombed carbon fiber.

The interior of the 2011 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 was upgraded as well. It’s more spacious and features redesigned head restraints, new comfortable seats and a new instrument panel with lights. The leather upholstery is the key word featuring lozenge-shaped stitching (known as Q-citura). Modern gadgets are also part of the design including a new Kenwood radio with a 6.5’ widescreen monitor, DVD, WMA and MP3 player.

The “magic” continues under the hood, where the new engine was radically modified. This 2011 Lamborghini Murcielago is equipped with a 6.5 liters V12 engine able to produce 640 horsepower at 8,000 rpm. This new engine can reach a maximum torque of 660 Nm. As a result, the Murcielago LP640 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.4 seconds while the maximum speed achieved by this sports car is of 211mph.

The 2011 Lamborghini Murcielago meets all the European and North American law requirements when it comes to exhaust fumes. And to do that, the engineers have created a larger oil radiator while the air intakes on the left side were enlarged. In addition, because of the higher torque and power, the new Murcielago LP640 is equipped with a modified six-ratio gearbox and even an automatic e-gear is available, on request, for the buyer. The 2011 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 also features a four-wheel drive system and the well known Viscous Traction system. The car is also equipped with self-ventilating front and rear brakes, the anti-blocking system with electronic brake control and four speed sensors and an electro-hydraulic control unit. This 2011 Murcielago LP640 is perfectly equipped to confront all the obstacles and the road conditions without putting the driver and the passenger in danger. When it comes to safety measures, this 2011 Lamborghini Murcielago meets all the requirements being equipped with two front airbags and all the braking system components needed for special road conditions.

If you are interested in buying a 2011 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 you should know that that the starting price is around $350,000 and can be higher depending on your demands regarding the interior gadgets or the engineering components.

The German tuning company, the well known Edo Competition, transformed the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 into a piece of art with the help of the international designer, Christian Augier. The result of their entire work is the Lamborghini LP710, an amazing and fast supercar.

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

Edo Karabegovic is a mechanic who worked for Ferrari and lives in a small village, northeast of Dortmund. Now he is retired and willing to take on massive projects that suppose transforming already exceptional cars in even more impressive and high-speed sports cars. In order to create the Lamborghini LP710, Edo used the Murcielago LP640 and removed only its standard hardware that powered the front wheels and the entire dynamic safety net. As a result the weight of the car was lowered with 88 pounds. Instead, he increased with 69 horsepower the power produced by the 6.5 liters V12 engine of the Murcielago with the help of the engine control unit. He also designed a new air intake, new exhaust headers, high-performance camshafts, high-flow catalytic converters, blueprinted cylinder heads and a stainless-steel exhaust system.

The Lamborghini LP710 is equipped with a complex rear wing which has a Gurney flap that can be adjusted and forged aluminum wheels equipped with Continental V-max tires.  On the road the LP710 is amazing. The automatic manual transmission changes very easy the gear while the upgraded clutch mounted by Edo on this cool Lamborghini sends a jolt through the driver’s spine when he clicks the right-hand shift paddle. That’s why the driving experience is incredible and fearsome. What impresses even more is the noise made by the V12 engine of the LP710 which along with the lightweight exhaust system make you feel that Edo plugged the engine into an amp.

The LP710 is equipped with a two-wheel drive system and that’s why you must have some skills in order to be able to drive this fierce “beast”. Maybe because of its drive system this supercar became more intuitive and more fun to drive. But even if it sounds dangerous, the LP710 is equipped with high performance brakes and safety features. This cool Lamborghini goes from zero to 60 mph in only 3.2 seconds and you can reach 200 km/h in less than 10 seconds. When it comes to the top speed this supercar reaches 360 km/h (223.7 mph) making every speed fanatic pleased to drive the LP710.

If all that I described above made you think about buying one of the LP710 available, I must say that the look of this car will just be another argument that will convince you to do so. In fact, you can choose your own design. That’s because Christian Augier, an international designer, has developed five different looks, each one of the only 5 Lamborghini LP710 ever built reflecting one of those looks. So you should hurry to purchase one, because the edition is limited.

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 interior

All the cars carry the sledgehammer touch of Christian Augier on the inside and on the outside. The customers can choose from a large range of themes and designs including the pirate life or the “sparking skull”. As a result you can be sure that you will own a unique supercar that will impress every sports car lover making him jealous. Not all of us can be blessed with such a beauty!

But this dream will cost you a little fortune: around $642,390, including an extra of $16,000 for each seat of the car. But nothing matters when it comes to your dreams and you will not be sorry if you buy one of these cool Lamborghinis.

The 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago is called LP640 because of the position and the power of the engine (Longitudinale Posteriore (LP) and 640 horsepower). It follows the “monstrous” design of the Murcielago and when you look at this supercar the front seems to say “more over” while the rear says “eat my exhaust”. A tough message, but we are used with the fierce “bulls” manufactured by Lamborghini and with their “spicy” prices.

2007 Lamborghini Murcielago

This 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago maintains the traditional style principles used by Lamborghini during its existence: purism, sport and function. The design of the LP640 is more aggressive than its predecessor because of the redesigned front and rear bumpers. Moreover, the exterior is completed by the exhaust system that is blended into the diffuser located on the rear bumper. To make it more appealing, the 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago has incredible rear lights and a large aperture to cool the oil radiator. The best phrase that describes the 2007 Murcielago’s design is: functionality rules over the shape.

But moving to more serious business, you should know that the real “party” is under the hood where all the engine components were upgraded. The 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago is equipped with a 6.2 liters V12 engine displaced in a 60 degree angle. This “little baby” produces 640 horsepower. If you want more speed you will be happy to know that a 6.5 liters V12 engine is available as well. The LP640 features a redesigned automatic gearbox with six speeds along with a new rear differential and a new axle shafts. Because of all these improvements made by the engineers the Murcielago LP640 can reach a top speed of 340 km/h and goes from zero to 100 km/h in only 3.4 seconds. Other technical features that characterize the 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago are the larger oil radiator, the liquid cooling system and the electronically managed air intakes opening system.

2007 Lamborghini Murcielago engine

The 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago has a four wheels drive system that is self-governing and is equipped with a dual hydraulic brake system. It has an anti-blocking system provided with an electronic brake control and traction control. The safety measures were taken into consideration as well by the engineers. The Murcielago LP640 is equipped with two front airbags for the driver and the passenger. All the international laws regarding the impacts against posts, the head-on and side crashes or the fuel supply integrity are respected by the Murcielago.

The interior of the Murcielago LP640 leaves you speechless. The most major changes were suffered by the seats of the well known cockpit. They were redesigned to be more spacious and have head restraints that ensure more comfort for the driver and the passenger. The interior is covered in leather while the upholstery has a lozenge-shaped stitching known as “Q-citura”.  The designers developed a new instrument panel with lights flanked by a Kenwood radio and equipped it with DVD, WMA and MP3 player.

Another feature available on this Lamborghini is the navigation system.

All the electronic components of the 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 have been improved. That means the engine and car parameters are managed and controlled by three control units and a “satellite” control unit that are interconnected with the help of a CAN Bus line. The Lamborghini Company is also able to transform the Murcielago LP640 into a customized sports car thanks to the “Privilegio” program.

All in all, the 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago is an incredible fast supercar that fulfills the dreams of each person that loves high speeds, comfort and luxury.  For only $320,000 (base price) you can enjoy the privilege of owning it.

Here’s something you don’t hear everyday, a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 crashed into a Ferrari F430 at a South African VIP event in the town of KwaZulu-Natal.

But even though the nature of the crash is quite exotic, we haven’t gotten to the best part. It seems that the Lambo was being driving by a convicted hitman, which was charged with killing six people, and sentenced to 72 years in prison. He was subsequently pardoned, and even attended this political event without anyone saying anything.

But it seems he wasn’t too fond of the people who showed up after the crash and started taking pictures, as he reportedly began threatening and confiscated their mobile phones or cameras. Needless to say, when the police arrived on scene did nothing except call in the tow trucks for the wrecked supercars.

Thankfully a brave guy managed to score a few pics, and sent them to our friends at WreckedExotics.

Ebay has always been a great source for pretty interesting cars. For example, earlier today we had the Mini Cooper S owned by former Playmate Sara Jean Underwood and now here’s another cool find. This Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 replica is based on a 2009 Pontiac Solstice roadster and it has a starting price of $63,244. Under the hood, there’s a 325 hp 4 cylinder engine which takes the face Lambo from 0 to 60 mph in 5 seconds. That’s pretty fast. I mean, not Lambo fast, but fast. I have to admit, the car looks pretty interesting, but I’d say it wouldn’t make any sense wasting that much money for a fake Lambo. There are tons of other awesome cars you could buy for that money. Also, check out two video after the jump.

British company Mayfair Prestige has put up for sale this special Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. Besides the fact that the car has received a special tuning treatment from Hamann, what’s really special about it is the chrome paint finish. But, of course, as you’d expect, it doesn’t come cheap at all, because Mayfair is asking £340,000 (about $625,000) for it. Will they get it? Of course, because there’s gotta be someone out there with a lot of cash and with the desire to show off. Check out more photos after the jump. (more…)

Last time German tuner Edo Competition messed up with the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, they managed to squeeze 23 hp more from the engine and, with a total of 663 hp, the car clocked 345.7 km/h (214.8 mph) on the test track in Nardo, Italy, which is the highest speed a Lamborghini ever reached. Despite all that, the guys over at Edo weren’t satisifed and decided to give it another upgrade. This time, they managed to increase the power output by 47 hp more, which means that the LP640 by Edo develops an impressive 710 hp and 700 Nm (516 ft-lb).

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) is done in 3.2 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in under seconds and the estimated top speed is 360 km/h (224 mph). The extra performance was possible through new exhaust headers, new high flow catalytic converters, new mufflers, a new exhaust tip, new performance camshafts, modified cylinder heads and new high flow air filters plus reprogrammed engine controls, plus.

Check out more photos after the jump.

You’d better be careful next time you complain the service is really far from your home, because it can be even worse. Take this ‘poor’ Sheik’s case. He had to fly his £190,000 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 (similar to the one from The Dark Night movie) all the way from Qatar to the UK for an oil change. The whole trip cost him £20,000, plus £3,552 to service at an approved dealer.

I know, the guy has too much money than he can spend, but you have to admit, that’s pretty cool. Of course, environmentalists don’t have the same opinion, because the whole ‘operation’ sparked fury from them. For example, here are a few statements from some very angry people:
Airport worker: “This car doesn’t have a carbon footprint – more of a crater.”
Cargo handler: “It would have been far more efficient to fly mechanics out there.”
Jenny Evans, of pressure group Plane Stupid: “This horrifies me. It is another example of how rich people exploit and pollute the planet because of their money.”
Friends of the Earth’s transport campaigner Richard Dyer: “Flying a car thousands of miles for a service is ludicrous when planes are one of the most polluting ways to transport goods. We urge the individual to get their car serviced closer to home.”

To be honest, what I really don’t understand is why the owner chose to do that? I mean, I suppose there are Lamborghini services in Qatar. Or maybe he only did it because he can?
