Lexus LF-Ch hatchback might arrive in the US if people are interested | Rpmgo.com

As opposed to us Europeans, North American car fans aren’t that interested in compact hatchback models, which is why when Lexus presented the LF-Ch hybrid hatchback concept in Frankfurt this year, it refrained from commenting on if it will reach US shores.

Now though, in a new interview given by the brand’s general manager, Mark Templin, the premium hathback might arrive in the US to duke it out with models like the BMW 1 Series, Audi A3, Volvo C30 or even the Mini Cooper.

The Detroit Bureau does revealed that a deciding factor will be the degree of interest sparked when the LF-Ch will be presented at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show and January, 2010’s Detroit convention. Also, expect the model to be presented as a normal car, with a hybrid drivetrain appearing later, to combat the Audi A3 TDI and the upcoming BMW 1 Series hybrid.

What say you North American readers? Would a compact, premium-priced hatchback attract you? Leave a comment with your opinion.
