Mercedes-Benz is seriously working on developing a lineup of zero emissions vehicles, and has just announced that it will begin to produce an electric A Class-based model, dubbed E-Cell, this October.
Sadly the car won’t be offered to regular customers, as it will enter testing stages at various public institutions so that the electric powertrain and batteries can be subject to real-life conditions. The A Class E-Cell will join the Smart Electric Drive and the B Class F-Cell in Mercedes-Benz’ zero-emissions lineup.
No other details were given, except this promotional clip, meaning you’ll have to wait until autumn for other piece of information.
