Mini JCW tuning spy shots | Rpmgo.com

With Mini facing some real competition from the 180 hp Fiat Punto Abarth SS and the 197 hp Renault Motorsport 197, the engineers over at John Cooper Works (JCW), Mini’s tuning division, put their heads to use and created this performance kit for the Mini Cooper. The car, which you can see here, in the spy shots taken by the guys at WCF on the Nurburgring track, will be powered be a modified version of the 1.6 turbocharged engine, which is expected to deliver around 215 hp and also got other improvements, like a JCW exhaust system, larger JCW brakes and a JCW sport suspension.

The JCW Mini has a restyled body kit, with new front and rear bumpers, side skirts and new 18 inch JCW GP Limited Edition wheels. The sporty Mini is expected to debut at next year’s 2007 Geneva Motor Show with sales probably starting around summer 2008. See more spy photos after the jump.
