Morgan Aero Coupe heading to Geneva

The British automaker Morgan will be bringing to this year’s edition of the Geneva Motor Show the Aero Coupe which can be considered as a supercar for those of you that take longer trips. It is based on the GT3 Aero racer car and aside from being a fast car, it also offers a spacious interior and a roomy boot. The car will be built on a stiff aluminum chassis and has a BMW-sourced engine.

To be more exact, it is a V8 4.8-liter unit that produces 367 hp (270 kW) or 390 hp (291 kW) when it is equipped with a sports exhaust system, while the peak torque figure is 370 lb.-ft (490 Nm). The Aero Coupe is going to be available with a six-speed manual gearbox and also an automatic transmission.

Fitted with the manual gearbox, the 2013 Morgan Aero Coupe is going to do the 0-62 mph sprint in 4.5 seconds, while with the automatic transmission it will need 4.2 seconds. Regardless of the transmission chosen, the sports car will be capable of hitting a top speed of 170 mph (273 km/h).
