Nissan Compact Sport Concept Revealed – rpmGo.com

Nissan Compact Sport Concept

This week at the Shanghai Motor Show in China, Nissan unveiled the Compact Sport Concept, a 3-door hatchback prototype that was developed by the company’s global design center in Japan and at its Beijing design studio in China. Conceived “for young customers in emerging countries”, we don’t have many information about it, but it appears to be a more masculine version of the Micra, featuring a couple of elements from the standard supermini, like the headlights and the two-part grilles.

With its heavily-sculpted bodywork, massive bumpers and those bulged wheel arches, this compact looks promising, but we don’t know if there is going to be a production version based on this concept. If there is going to be one, our guess is that it will be a 3-door version of the Micra, taking into consideration that Nissan’s supermini is available at the moment only in a 5-door configuration.

The Compact Sport Concept is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 190 hp. This 4-cylinder power unit is mated to a CVT gearbox that features a 6-speed manual shift mode.

Inside, it looks similar to the production version of the Micra and adds a couple of sporty details, like the distinct instrument panel and gauges, along with the two-tone cloth seats and the flat-bottomed steering wheel.
