Opel Ampera Police Car
I personally like the looks of the Opel Ampera, I think it is cooler than the Chevrolet Volt. The German automaker made it even cooler, dressing the car in police blue. They say that their electric car is good for police patrols as it is silent, great for undercover jobs.
Once it will hit the market, the Ampera will have a range between 25 to 50 miles (40 to 80 km) running only on electric power, which is quite enough for patrolling the neighborhoods. Of course, it isn’t enough for a chase or other problems that might occur – this is when the 1.4-liter gas engine kicks in, extending the car’s range to about 310 miles (500 km). It has a pretty decent 370 Nm of torque and can do the 0-60 mph sprint in 9 seconds, onto a top speed of 99 mph (160 km/h).

The Opel Ampera packs a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery feeding current to an electric motor that outputs 150 hp (111 kW / 152 PS) and 273 lb.-ft (370 Nm). The car’s battery can be charged using a 230 V outlet. A full charge will take about 4 hours.
The car is already available for order now at a base price of 42,900 Euros in Germany. Deliveries will start at the end of this year.
