Renault Zoe Does 1,618 km In A Day

The Renault Zoe is certainly not on top of your list when it comes down to electric vehicles but this might change as the French EV has broke the record for the longest distance covered over the course of 24 hours.

During an event that was organized at the Aubevoye technical center, the car was able to travel no less than 1,005 miles (1,618 km), a lot more than the old record of 210 miles (338 km). To reach this performance, the battery pack of the Renault Zoe was “fast charged” so that the charge level could reach an 80% level in less than 30 minutes. It might sound impressive but the thing is that during the 24 hours the battery was recharged for 18 times so this isn’t really the car to buy if you plan on making any long trips.

Anyway, for those of you that don’t know, the Renault Zoe has an electric motor that pumps out 88 hp (89 PS / 65 kW) and 162 lb.-ft (220 Nm) of torque. On a single charge it can travel for up to 130 miles (210 km) and it has a top speed of 84 mph (135 km/h).
