Gold Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 scale model
Yesterday the German model carmaker Wilhelm Gülpen revealed the first details about his latest project – a 1:8 scale model of a Lamborghini Aventador, a scale model that will probably be sold for a lot more than the “affordable” 255,000 Euros price tag of the real supercar.

The body of this scale model is made entirely from carbon fiber and its seats are manufactured from 1400 precious stones. He used the same material for the rear lights while the front ones are in fact high quality clear diamonds. The materials that Wilhelm used for this Aventador cost a whopping 2 million Euros, and he said that additional modifications can be done according to the preferences of the buyer.

Most likely, Gülpen’s latest project will enter the Guinness Book of Records as the most expensive model car in the entire world. This 1:8 Lamborghini Aventador is expected to fetch at least 3.5 million Euros (about $4.6 million) with 500,000 Euros ($669.000) to be donated to a charity.

Lamborghini Aventador (1:8 Scale Model)
Forget what you know about overpriced cars and products in general; this one takes the number one spot without any efforts whatsoever. The all-new Lamborghini Aventador LP-700 carries a price tag of $379,000, but the miniature you see in this photo and video costs a whopping $4.83 million! If our math is correct, the 1:8 scale model is at least 12x more expensive than the real thing.
Why so expensive? Well, the German model maker Robert Gulpen used very precious materials while building the model. One relevant example would have to be a 1/1000 mm thin thread of solid gold around the carbon fiber parts of the car’s body. The wheels as well as the whole interior cabin have been cast from platinum and solid gold.
That “Lamborghini” logo that adorns the bulletproof glass showcase background is made out of platinum, gold and expensive gems. Gulpen mentioned that all of the materials used for creating this 1:8 scale model of the Aventador cost approximately $2.8 million. He added that 500 hours were necessary for creating this masterpiece.

On his website, the German model maker wrote that the miniature will go up for auction at either Sotherby’s or Chrystie’s in New York or Dubai. Starting price? $4.83 million, while $690,000 will go to charity, that is if the 1:8 scale model will find its filthy rich (and insane, we might add) owner.
