Tuning company Wraptivo wants to showcase its innovative vinyl wrap technology at the upcoming SEMA Show in Las Vegas, and as such, it has presented the first render of its showpiece, the Honda CR-Z Type-F.

As you can see, Honda’s sporty hybrid has received a matte black with carbon fiber accents wrap, as well as Volk TE37 wheels and other impressive exterior accessories.

The real surprise is on the inside, as the CR-Z wimpy 1.5-liter engine has received a new supercharger, as well as a custom exhaust and an optimized ECU. A Tein suspension, as well as new HKS components are also fitted to the Type-F.

In terms of interior, Wraptivo threw in a pair of Recaro bucket seats, new Alcantara trim and a sports shift knob.

Wraptivo’s Honda CR-Z Type-F will also be showcased on the track, not just on the SEMA Show floor. It will participate in the Source Interlink annual Super Lap Battle, which will take place after the show closes its doors.

Renown coachbuilder Shelby has is iconic to many muscle car fans due to the great work it did with various Ford models, with the biggest attention going to the Mustang, which has seen many different editions appear, with one of the most impressive being the Super Snake-badged ones.

But at this year’s SEMA show, Shelby also revealed a performance version of the Ford F-150 pick-up truck, which besides the custom paint scheme in red and black stripes on the inside, has received a 5.4-liter engine which outputs 475 HP.

Besides the increase in power, the performance kit also includes a 6-piston braking system, a lowered (by 3 inches/76mm) and stiffened suspension but also a new body kit. The latter is constituted from a new front fascia, a mesh grille, a carbon fiber splitter, fender vents and new ducts to cool the brakes.

Of course, Super Snake and Shelby badges have been spread all around the custom pick-up, to make any fan proud of his purchase.

While it may soon be changing owners, after GM sold it to Chinese company Sichuan Tengzhong, Hummer will be bringing quite a lot of interesting special models to the SEMA Show, which is currently going on in Las Vegas.

The H3 is the base for all of the following special editions, but there will be certainly many other models on display at the Nevada convention. Starting off the attack is two concepts straight from GM, H3 Moab and H3T Sportsman.

The first, as its names suggests is inspire by famous off road trail the Moab rim, and is powered by the H3 Alpha V8 engine, developing 300 HP (221 kW). Its new accesories include a Rancho 4-inch front suspension lift, a custom spring-over conversion in the rear, a set of massive 35-inch BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain KM2 tires and, just to be on the safe side, a beefed up underbody shield to protect from that rought terrain. Of course in order to look the part GM fitted a Gobi Ranger roof basket with four off-road lamps, the front bumper received lower grille lamps in the front, and the front and rear received two cameras so that you can observe your surroundings.

For those of you who just want a bit of an extra performance but still plan to take the Hummer in mildly off road conditions, the H3T Sportsman is for you. Powered by the same Alpha V8, it received an extra 70 HP due to new LS2 cylinder heads and a few extra tweaks. A body color-coded upper grille is installed, as well as a matte finish fuel door, storage boxes on the right and left side of the pick up bed and special floor mats and seat covers.

The Hummer booth will also be host to two special models, one made by Dakar stage winner Robby Gordon, which boasts a special chassis with racing suspension but also air conditioning and windows all around, powered by a V8 engine.

The second Hummer comes from Rod Hall Racing, which transformed the H3 Alpha into a desert racer, thanks to new suspension bushings, wiring and exhaust systems. The model is set to be raced by Chad Hall in the 2009 SCORE International Baja 1000 competition.

Even though the Chinese will now own Hummer, it’s nice to see that the appetite for customization hasn’t decreased already.

I know I’ve been posting tuning and customization articles left and right but they will come to an end, as the SEMA Show in Las Vegas wraps out today. Until then, this special edition Toyota Tundra dubbed Midnight Rider Tailgater is just too good to pass up.

In honor of the famous country duo Brooks & Dunn going on their farewell tour, Toyota commissioned tuning firm The B.A.D. Company to make a one of a kind model out of their Tundra V8 pick-up truck. The result? As you can see in the picture, a perfect vehicle for a dedicate tailgate party.

You’ve got everything from a pull-out Grill N Chill with the adjacent cooking space, a tap for your beverage of choice, an ice chest to keep you cool and, in case you don’t want the grill to get all messy, an infrared barbecue But cooking isn’t the only thing you can do with this special model, as a massive 42-inch flat screen TV is installed in the bed of the pick-up, as well as a Kicker sound system with two subwoofers and amplifiers.

Other trinkets include the silver western-engraved door handles, a customized Brooks & Dunn license plate, a set of 20-inch Mickey Thompson “Classic Lock” aluminum wheels and special black leather trim seats.

That’s why a show like this week’s SEMA in Las Vegas may seem like early Christmas, as all of the major aftermarket producers get together to show the world just how they can customize anything with two, four or even more wheels.

But one company that will certainly earn points for innovation is MotionLite, which promises to bring the ultimate deal in wheel illumination. That’s right, the company will fit special lights to each of your fenders, which illuminate the wheels in 7 different colors and includes strobe and morph functions, for that extra touch.

If there’s one thing Americans love, its drag racing. This was highlighted by the massive success that Ford’s Mustand Cobra Jet enjoyed last year, as all of the 50 units set to be made were sold before they could get it off the assembly line.

Now, in order to celebrate the 2010 model, the company decided to build another limited 50-unit run of the Cobra Jet, codenamed FR500CJ, which debuts at this week’s SEMA show. Set to be built at the Auto Alliance plant, it will receive the engines from the Romeo plant.

But don’t go thinking this is just another attempt to squeeze profit from those who didn’t manage to get one last year, as the new model doesn’t only brag with its updated body, but also many tweaks and fine touches, which came from the people who bought the models last year.

For all our readers who aren’t from the United States, a brief history lesson on the great heritage that the Yenko brand brought to the tuning and aftermarket scene is needed. Founded in the late 1960s, the brand become a hallmark of exclusivity and handled mostly Chevrolet models, in a similar way to how Shelby deals with Ford vehicles.

But the last few years haven’t been so kind with the historic brand, as its owners were forced to sell it to GMCI (General Marketing Capital Inc.), which promised to get it back on its feet. And that it will certainly do, as it has just announced that it will debut its first new project, based on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro at this week’s SEMA Show, which is taking place in Las Vegas.

The Phase I edition will use the SS edition of the Camaro, powered by a V8 engine, on which they will add a supercharger, reportedly taking output to a massive 600 HP, a Hurst short-throw shifter, bigger brakes and a special Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system. Of course, in order to follow the Yenko tradition, various badges and logos will be applied wherever possible.

GMCI also added that a Phase II and III editions will follow during next year, hopefully with bigger engines like the LS7.

Famous North American tuning house Hennessey has just announced that it will be preparing multiple versions of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro LS9, all in their HPE line. The first model and the one already available for the debut at SEMA this week will be the HPE700, which will produce 725 HP with a torque of 741 lb-ft.

This version of the Camaro will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, and do the quarter-mile in 11.3 at a speed of 126 mph. This feat is achieved by a combination of a Brembo braking system with 15-inch rotors and a set of 20-inch alloy wheels .

But what’s more interesting is that two twin-turbo versions will be launched soon after it, with one developing between 800 and 850 HP and one, as we said in the title, capable of outputting 1,000 HP. No performance figures were given for the future models, but you can just imagine how fast they will be, if the power can be properly put down on the road.

You might know the team at Specter Werkes after they presented their first edition of the Chevrolet Corvette C6 GTR in the summer of last year, on which we reported. Now, the team is back and after a collaboration with Lingenfelter, are set to present the new version of the Corvette C6 GTR tuning package at this year’s SEMA show.

And this is certainly something you won’t want to miss if you’re going to the SEMA conference in Las Vegas this week, as the new C6 GTR will develop a massive 800 HP squeezed from the LS7 V8 twin-turbo engine. Among other changes will be the StopTech STR braking system and the Corsa exhaust system, as well as the BASF Pearl Blue exterior, which is complimented by a set of HRE CF40 carbon fiber wheels, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 Zero Pressure tires.

This new package is available for all of the models in the Chevrolet Corvette C6 range, including the Z06 and ZR1 performance editions.

Every car fan has heard about the classic American hot rods, big beefy cars from simpler times with huge engines developing massive amounts of power and sucking the fuel out of its gas tank. But for this year’s SEMA show which is taking place this week, Ford has decided the switch the old saying that there is no replacement for displacement, and fitted, with the help of Detroit Street Rods, a modern day EcoBoost V6 engine, from its new line of smaller, more ecological but still powerful units, onto a 1934 hot rod.

The model in question is a 1934 3-window coupe, which will boast the first rear-wheel drive application of an EcoBoost engine, and features an all-steel body replica. In order to fit in the new body of the hot rod, the two Honeywell turbochargers needed to be switched, but it still produces the same great output which matches even current day V8 engines, but with a smaller displacement size, developing 400 HP with around 400 lb-ft of torque.

For those of you interested in this new initiative, Ford will be holding a special “Driving Green” panel at this year’s SEMA show.

It seems that before any recent edition of the SEMA show in Las Vegas, we are assaulted with dozens of highly customized cars. But since its introduction, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe has been the preferred target for many tuning and performance companies.

One of them is led by John Hennessey, which recently partnered with Hyunday in order to form a Tuner School, with participants invited to work on a special Genesis Coupe model.

After teaching them anything from tuning engines to fitting turbo/superchargers, the students have revealed their creation, a monster Genesis developing over 500 HP and around 465 lb-ft of torque. This is due to a single 66 mm turbocharger, a new fuel system with high flow injectors and many other aftermarket parts. This means that it will do 0 to 60 in just 3.9 seconds, and pass a drag strip’s quarter mile in 12.5 seconds.

But what’s really interesting about the car is that it is wrapped completely in carbon fiber, giving it a very unique look, which will surely attract many eyes when it will be presented at next week’s SEMA show in Las Vegas.

In an effort to further endear itself with the tuner crowd, South Korean company Hyundai has revealed that it will launch the 2.0T R-Spec version of its Genesis Coupe model at this year’s SEMA show, taking place next week in Las Vegas.

Seeing as how this is the place where many tuned version of the Genesis have been released, the choice of venue is more than adequate for Hyundai. This new version will take away many non-essential parts so as to reduce weight and provide everything needed for a base tuning model.

Among the highlights of this new spec line will be a track-tuned suspension, a braking system from Brembo, a limited-slip differential from Torsen, alongside a set of 19-inch gunmetal-finished alloys wrapped in Summer performance tires. Needless to say, it will be powered by the turbocharged 2-liter four cylinder engine, which develops 210 HP.

But one of the most interesting things is that will will cost $23,750, with just $1,750 more than the standard 2.0T, and $3,000 less that the Track version of the Genesis Coupe, leaving said money to those who want to upgrade their car on their own with their preferred components.

But for this money, don’t expect any luxuries like bluetooth, cruise control, trip computer or multifunction steering wheel, as these were forgone to save weight. Instead you will find a leather-wrapped gear shifter and steering wheel, as well as a six-speaker stereo system. The new Hyundai Genesis 2.0T R-Spec will come in three paint jobs: Karussell White, Bathurst Black and Tsukuba Red.

In case you want even more power from your Dodge Challenger and to make it more exclusive, then the guys at SpeedFactory have the best thing for you, as they will introduce a special Challenger this year at the SEMA show which boasts an aluminum engine capable of producing 700 HP.

The engine in question is a 6.1 liter (370 cubic inch) unit, straight from Mopar, which has been upgaded to a capacity of 7.2-liters or 440 cubic inch. As such, it will develop 515kW (700 HP) if you fuel it with 91 octane gas.

Other changes have been made to the outside of the car, which now sits on 20-inch BBS Black Edition CH-R wheels, wrapped in Bridgestone R Compound tires who will allow air to cool the 15-inch front disc Brembo brakes. Also, the team added enhanced performance springs to the suspension, sway barsa and a stainless steel cat black exhaust from Corsa.

Adding to the exclusivity will be a special carbon fiber bonnet, a matte finish, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, and of course custom SpeedFactory badges, graphics, which continue on to the inside, filling it with floor mats, and logos of the tuner.

Well here’s a certain blast from the past, it seems that tuning and customization company Lingenfelter has decided to revive the glorious Pontiac Trans Am, basing itself on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro model.

Dubbed the 455 TA, it takes many of its styling cues from the 1971 Trans Am (not the famous Firebird one), and is powered by a massive 455 cubic inch (hence the name) engine, or for non-American readers, a 7.5-liter V8 with 655 HP and a torque of 610 lb-ft (826 Nm).

Although we only have a few sketches of the model, it is looking pretty good, giving the new Camaro a redesigned front fascia and rear end, a set of 20-inch honeycomb-style wheels with the obligatory wider tires, a hood scoop, air vents and, last but not least, a duck-tail spoiler.

According to the company, its interior will also be up to par, and remind many users of the original Trans Am models.

Overall, this is certainly a concept which many people will be glad to see at next weeks’ SEMA show in Las Vegas.

This year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas will be host to many modified models, but a very interesting one which promises both performance and the wind through your hair is Fox Marketing‘s supercharged 2010 Lexus IS350C, which has seen a big power increase to 405 HP.

Largely responsible for this boost in power is a ProCharger C2 blower which adds another six PSI into the 3.5-liter V6 of the Japanese convertible, as well as a Yonaka intercooler and an F-Sport exhaust system. Other additions will be the braking system, taken straight from Lexus’ tuning division, which boast 14-inch discs, which will be decorate with a set of iForged 20-inch wheels, wrapped in Tokyo T1R tires. Also thanks to a Yonaka SPECII adjustable coilover suspension, this convertible will also stick closer to the ground and maintain its stability.

The outside wasn’t forgotten, as Fox added a new front lip, as well as side skirts, a revamped front grille and new badges. Expect more details on the car when the SEMA show will start next week.
