Peugeot SXC Crossover Concept

It was only yesterday when we’ve mentioned that Peugeot will reveal a new SUV concept at the Shanghai Motor Show that will start next week. Well, this is it. Dubbed “SXC”, it was developed by the company’s design studio in Shanghai China Tech Center and is aimed to suit the preferences of the local customers, combining the style of an SUV with the elegance of a sedan, while at the same time maintaining the traditional Peugeot line of design.

The car is powered by a 1.6-liter THP engine that develops 218 hp (160 kW), combined with two electric motors (front+rear). This means that the total output is 313 hp (230 kW), while the fuel consumption is of only 5.3 liters / 100 km, with CO2 emissions of 143 g/km.

The concept measures 4.87 meters long, 2.04 meters wide and 1.61 meters high. Those counter-opening doors look very cool if you ask me and I hope that they will make  it into the production version. Instead of rear-view mirrors, the SXC has cameras, along with other interesting additions, like the cat-eye-like headlamps and boomerang-shaped tail lights.
