SsangYong XIV-2

The SsangYong XIV-2 is a “convertible” concepts and is a successor of a similar concept that was introduced last year in September during the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.XIV stands for eXciting User Interface and this would have to be a crossover SUV-convertible that has been equipped with a one-touch automatic opening soft-top, pram-style roof.

The interesting concept you see in these photos measures 4166 mm long, 1566 mm high and it is 1802 mm wide, while its wheelbase measures 2600 mm. The concept gets an extremely advanced cabin with a generous iPad-style screen located in the center console. Also inside the cabin there is aluminum and a carbon fiber trim.

Most likely we won’t see this concept turning into a production model quite soon, but SsangYong has high hopes for the future as they plan to sell 300,000 cars by 2016. Last year they managed to deliver 113,000 units which was a significant increase of 40% in comparison to the year before that.
