2012 Infiniti G37 Sedan
There are a lot of luxury cars available at the moment and one strong competitor is Infiniti. One relevant example would have to be the 2012 G Sedan which is powered by a 2.5-liter V6 engine that develops 218 hp. The car can also be ordered with a beefier V6 3.7-liter unit that produces 328 hp.
It is available with either a rear-wheel drive system or the company’s own Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system. The car offers seating for up to five adults, and it is available in eight exterior colors and three interior colors. The prices for this Infiniti sedan start from MSRP $32,400.
The coupe version of this model is motivated by a more powerful V6 3.7-liter engine that churns 330 hp, linked to either the RWD or the AWD system. Even though it is a coupe, it has enough room to accommodate up to four adults so you get the best from both worlds: the looks of a coupe and the spacious cabin of a sedan. The 2012 Infiniti G Coupe costs from MSRP $37,600.
2012 Infiniti G37 Convertible
The Japanese automaker also has the Convertible version which is considerably pricier as its base price is of MSRP $46,400. It has the same V6 3.7-liter engine with 325 hp but it is available only with a rear-wheel drive configuration.
2012 Infiniti IPL G Coupe
If you want a quicker car, have a look at the 2012 Infiniti IPL G Coupe which is motivated by a 3.7-liter IPL-tuned V6 engine that develops 348 hp. Available only with a RWD configuration, this model features an IPL-tuned high-flow dual exhaust and has a starting price of MSRP $49,350.
Our favorite Infiniti is the M model which can be ordered with a V6 330 hp, a 360 hp hybrid or a more powerful V8 420 hp engine. It’s available with a rear-wheel drive system or the aforementioned Intelligent All-Wheel Drive setup and can accommodate up to five adults. The prices start from MSRP $47,700.
The most affordable Infiniti SUV that you can buy is the EX which comes with a V6 3.5-liter engine that produces 297 hp. Available in either a RWD or an AWD version, this model has seating for up to five adults and costs from MSRP $35,600.
A more expensive SUV is the Infiniti FX that will set you back at least MSRP $43,450. It can be ordered with a V6 303 hp engine (FX35 model) or the more powerful V8 390 hp engine (FX50 model). The entire horsepower can be sent to the back wheels or to all of them via the AWD setup. It offers seating for up to five adults and can be ordered with one of the seven exterior colors available.
If you have top dollars to spend, have a look at the 2012 Infiniti QX that starts from MSRP $58,700. This model is available exclusively with a V8 5.6-liter 32-valve engine that generates 400 hp. It can be purchased with either a rear-wheel drive system or Infiniti’s All-Mode 4WD. This large SUV has enough room for up to eight adults and it is available in six exterior and two interior color choices.

For this year’s edition of the Los Angeles Auto Show, Infiniti has decided to bring the new generation of the JX seven-seat luxury crossover, after they’ve unveiled the concept version back in August during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The production version of the Infiniti JX will get a V6 3.5-liter gasoline engine under its hood, a power unit that is capable of developing 261 hp. The car will be available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, and it will adopt various new technologies, including the Backup Collision Intervention which will allow the driver to spot crossing objects behind the car and the system is capable of applying the brakes in order to avoid collision.
The car will feature an impressive 14-speaker Bose studio surround sound system along with the Infiniti Connection Telematics system which will be able to automatically synchronize the driver’s calendar and offer navigation aid to appointments.
The Infiniti JX35 FWD will carry a starting price of $40,450 while the JX35 AWD will be available from $41,550.

Last month during the Frankfurt Motor Show, Infiniti brought a one-off FX Vettel concept that had aerodynamic and engineering updates which were tailored by the double F1 champion who was directly involved in the development of the SUV. Even though at that moment they’ve said that this will remain a concept, apparently the folks at Infiniti have changed their mind and this car will go into a limited production.
This is only the first model that will be launched as a result of the collaboration between Infiniti and Vettel, who is the company’s ambassador and double world Formula 1 champion for Red Bull Racing. Andy Palmer who is the automaker’s boss described this newly established relationship similar to the one between Mercedes-Benz and AMG or the one between BMW and the M division.
This Vettel edition of the FX50 S comes with a new design for the front grille, LED daytime running lights, a carbon fiber spoiler which has been modeled on the front wing of a F1 car, a rear spoiler, along with carbon fiber sills and wing mirrors.
At the heart of this SUV is a modified V8 5.0-liter engine that churns 414 hp and is able to hit 186 mph (300 km/h) thanks to the fact that the limiter has been removed and it has more horsepower under its hood.
Palmer added that since the FX50 S Premium costs 58,250 pounds, this limited-run Vettel edition might have “a price tag of up to 75,000 pounds.”

The Japanese car manufacturer Infiniti has become popular for rolling out cars that offer luxury and performance. With the introduction of the M35h model in Europe, the company decided to not focus on the car’s fuel economy or the list of available goodies. Instead, they’ve invited the guys from the Guinness World Records to UK’s Santa Pod Raceway where the gorgeous sedan was officially certified as being the “world’s fastest accelerating full hybrid” in the entire world.
They took a regular, production-line version and tested it without making any sort of modifications, achieving an average run of 13.9 seconds @ over 100 mph. The car is motivated by a V6 engine that develops 292 hp and an electric motor that has an additional 67 hp, all for a grand total of 359 hp. These figures are available for the European-spec model while the North American version offers “only” 350 hp.
Anyway, the car needed 5.5 seconds in order to do the 0-62 mph sprint, which makes it a little bit faster than the now-defunct BMW ActiveHybrid X6 that does the 0-60 mph sprint in the same amount of time. Let’s not forget that we are talking about a frugal car so we have to mention that it can return 27 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, according to EPA. In addition, the 2012 Infiniti M35h can be driven in electric mode at speeds of up to 75 mph.

Infiniti FX50 Vettel Concept Unveiled At Frankfurt Motor Show
Infiniti FX50 Vettel Concept
About six month ago, rumors started surfacing the Internet about a special edition of the FX which has the signature of the current world F1 champion Sebastian Vettel. After a couple of teasers, we finally get to see the car, and from the beginning we have to tell you that it won’t make it as a production model as this is only a one-off concept.
Infiniti FX50 Vettel Concept
The chassis of the car has been lowered by 20 mm and they’ve also implemented a new aerodynamic package that includes both revised front & rear bumpers. For the front splitter as well as the rear diffuser, Infiniti’s engineers have used carbon fiber, while the mirror covers, front grille and the side sills benefit from the same treatment. Thanks to these upgrades, the coefficient of lift (Cl) has been improved by 30% over the standard model while the coefficient of drag (cd) is now 5% lower. The car rides on massive black-painted 21-inch alloys that have silver rims.
Infiniti FX50 Vettel Concept
By installing the aforementioned carbon fiber components and the lightweight wheels, they’ve managed to reduce the weight of the car by 101 pounds (46 kg) in comparison to the regular FX50S Premium and it now weighs 4,517 lbs (2,049 kg), which is still a lot if you ask me.
Infiniti FX50 Vettel Concept
Real black carbon fiber was used for trimming the door panels, center console and the dashboard, while the gearshift paddles and the steering wheel got the Alcantara treatment. The FX50 Vettel features specially-designed sport seats that have additional support and have been wrapped around in black quilted suede cloth that was finished with purple stitching and a couple of “SV” logos.
Infiniti FX50 Vettel Concept
The car is powered by a revised version of the standard V8 5.0-liter engine and it now has a new exhaust system and a remapped ECU, which increases the output to 420 hp, up from the standard 390 hp. They’ve also ditched the V-max limiter and included a longer final drive ratio which allows the vehicle to hit a top speed of 187 mph (300 km/h). It is also faster in the 0-62 mph sprint, being able to do it in 5.6 seconds, which 0.2 quicker than the regular model. Other modifications include re-rated dampers as well as stiffer springs.
Infiniti FX50 Vettel Concept
As we said in the beginning, this is only a one-off concept and at the moment there are no plans of launching a production version but we’re almost certain that if the feedback is very good they’ll change their mind and roll out a limited series which will probably carry an exorbitant price tag.

During this year’s edition of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event, Infiniti announced that the IPL G Convertible, which was on display there as a concept, will spawn into a production variant as a 2013MY.
Infiniti IPL G Convertible Concept
IPL is the company’s performance division and the car will probably have the same engine as the concept, which is a V6 3.7-liter unit that develops 333 hp (338 PS / 249 kW) and has a peak torque of 276 lb.-ft (374 Nm).

After a few days in which they’ve revealed several teasers, this week at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event organized in Monterey, California, the Japanese automaker Infiniti unveiled the JX 7 Concept, which is the preview of the production version that will be presented at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show.
Design-wise, from the outside of this big 7-seater crossover we notice that they’ve borrowed a few styling ideas implemented in the company’s Essence concept, like the grill and headlamp design, plus the crescent-cut D-pillar. It seems that the interior cabin continues the swoopy exterior styling, featuring three rows of seats which can accommodate up to seven passengers.
Infiniti said that the production version will come with a rich selection of technologies, including Blind Spot and Backup Collision Intervention systems, Infiniti Connection Telematics systems, along with a powerful Bose Audio Studio Surround sound system that benefits from the Waveguide bass technology and comes with 14 speakers.
Under the hood all we know is that it will have a V6 engine of undisclosed capacity, but most likely it will be a 3.7-liter unit which will be linked to a “sports-tuned” CVT. Clients will have the possibility to opt from an AWD system or a FWD version.
More information about the car will be revealed in November at the L.A. Auto Show.

A few days ago Infiniti revealed the first batch of photos with the facelift version of its FX sport utility vehicle which will make its official debut later on this August at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Set to go on sale in the United States next year, it will come with a lot of styling updates that were inspired by the company’s Essence that was revealed back in 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show.
The facelift version will come with a new front grille and an entirely updated front fascia. In addition, clients will be able to choose from new designs for the alloy wheels while the cabin will also benefit from some updates, like a new instrument cluster and heated seats.
As for engines, the 2012 Infiniti FX will be powered by either an entry-level V6 3.5-liter engine that develops 303 hp or with a more powerful V8 5.0-liter unit that fires 390 hp. Clients will be able to get the SUV with either a RWD or an AWD configuration and these engines will be mated as standard with a 7-speed automatic gearbox.
2012 Infiniti FX35 Limited Edition
Infiniti also confirmed that they will roll out a special edition of the FX, dubbed FX35 Limited Edition which will ride on bespoke 21-inch alloy rims and it will come with a special Iridium Blue paint, special floor mats, tinted headlights as well as aluminum pedals
Also at the Pebble Beach, Infiniti will bring the 7-seat XJ SUV. It seems that neither this seven-seater nor the aforementioned Limited Edition will make it into United Kingdom or at least that what Infiniti told Autocar.

If you haven’t read the first part of our article, now would be a great time to do it. Let’s continue where we left off yesterday and see what the Blue Oval will be bringing to the 2011 Chicago Auto Show.
2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302
The most interesting car will definitely be the Mustang which will be exhibited in various versions, like the GT, the V6 and the Shelby GT500. In addition, Ford will be bringing the Boss 302 which will be below the GT500 but above the GT. The V6 model will come with a 3.7-liter that outputs 305 hp while the GT will get a more powerful V8 5.0-liter, good for 412 hp. The Boss 302 will carry GT’s engine but it will produce 444 hp. The top-of-the-range Shelby GT500 will be fitted with a V8 5.4-liter supercharged engine that will output 550 hp. Regarding the available gearboxes, both the V6 and the GT will get either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. The Boss 302 and the Shelby GT500 will be available only with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The new generation of the Focus will also be brought to Detroit. The car will be available as a 4-door sedan or a 4-door hatchback and will get one of the following trims: S, SE, SEL and Titanium. Regardless of the trim level, the new Focus will be fitted with a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter engine that can run either on gas or E85 ethanol-blended fuel. The engine will output 155 hp and can be mated with either a 5-speed manual or the new 6-speed dual-clutch automated manual gearbox.
Another model brought by Ford will be the 2011 C-Max. This 7-seater minivan is going to be available with either a Mazda5-sourced 4-cylinder 2.5-liter power unit that outputs 168 hp or a 4-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged carrying 168 hp while running on regular gas and 180 hp with premium gas. Both of the engines will be fitted with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The last model Ford will be bringing to this year’s Chicago Auto Show is going to be the 2011 Explorer. Available in three trim levels: Base, XLT and Limited, the car can get either a FWD or an AWD. Regardless of the trim level chosen, the car will be fitted with a V6 3.5-liter that outputs 290 hp while the 4-cylinder 2.0 power unit that churns 237 hp will be optional for the XLT and Limited trim levels. All of the models will come with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
At GMC you will be seeing the Sierra HD which is the heavy-duty version of the Sierra 1500. This monster will be available with a choice of two engines: V8 6.0-liter that produces 360 hp and a V8 6.6-liter that will offer 397 hp. Both of them will be linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The Koreans at Hyundai will be bringing their beautiful 3-door coupe Veloster model which they launched at Detroit a couple of weeks ago. The car will be available with a 4-cylinder 2.6-liter that cranks 138 hp, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission.
Another beautiful car brought by Hyundai will be the Elantra which will be produced in the United States. This 4-door sedan is going to be available in two trim levels: GLS and Limited. Both of them will be equipped with a 4-cylinder 1.8-liter that produces 148 hp. The base model will get a 6-speed manual transmission while the top-of-the-range will feature a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The Equus model is Hyundai’s flagship model and will make its appearance at Chicago next week. The car is 7 inches longer than the Genesis sedan and will carry its engine which is a V8 4.6-liter that produces 385 hp while running on premium gas and 378 hp with regular one. The power unit will be mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
A new car that is going to be produced in the US except the Elantra will be Infiniti’s QX56. In comparison to its predecessor, the new generation is longer, wider and lower. As standard, the car will get a V8 5.6-liter engine that outputs 400 hp, mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The QX56 will be available with a RWD system or an AWD one.
Without any doubt, one of the most beautiful cars that will be presented at the 2011 edition of the Chicago Auto Show will be the Jaguar XJ. Available in standard or “L” versions, the car will be offered with three trim levels. The “L” version is 5 inches longer than the regular one. Both of them can be acquired with these trim levels: XJ, Supercharged and Supersport. All of them will have the same engine which is a V8 5.0-liter that will output 385 hp for the Base model, 470 hp for the Supercharged and 510 hp for the top-of-the-line Supersport. The engine is going to be mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Supersport model can only be purchased through a special order.
Hyundai’s sister Kia will be bringing the mid-sized sedan Optima and the Sportage SUV. The first one will be available in three trim levels: LX, EX and SX. Joining the lineup will be a hybrid version. The first two trim levels will be equipped with a 4-cylinder 2.4-liter that outputs 200 hp while the SX carries a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged power unit that churns out 274 hp. The base model will get a 6-speed manual while the EX and the SX will be fitted with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid version will be fitted with a 4-cylinder 2.4-liter engine with an electric motor, linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

2011 Infiniti G25 Journey
The G25 is Infiniti’s entry-level sedan and is the perfect solution for those that cannot afford its bigger brother, the G37. With a lower base price and a smoother V6 engine, it offers a pretty good package. To do a better differentiation between these two models, Infiniti decided the drop a significant amount of additional equipment for the G25 and in comparison to the G37, the smaller brother is not available with the 10-speaker Bose stereo system, 18-inch rims, navigation and paddle shifters.
However, the Journey trim which is the most expensive G25 money can buy, comes with 17-inch alloy rims, auto headlights, tilting/telescoping steering wheel, auto up/down windows, auto-dimming rearview mirror, iPod connectivity, Bluetooth support, keyless ignition, dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, heated mirrors and 8-way adjustable power/heated seats. The only option available for the highest trim is the $1,000 power sliding moonroof. Add to this the destination fees and the 2011 Infiniti G25 Journey will set you back exactly $34,225. It is only a few thousands away from the entry-level G37 and only a couple of hundreds cheaper than the Lexus IS 250 which goes for $34,690 (base price). The Lexus has less horsepower under its hood and lacks several of the options offered by the G25.
2011 Infiniti G25 Journey
The Infiniti G25 follows the design lines of its more expensive sibling, featuring just about the same elegantly sporty rugged looks. The 17-inch rims are the same ones available for the G37, which makes it hard for almost anyone to differentiate the cars, without looking first at the rear trunk badge. Of course, the situation is a little bit different under the hood as the G25 is fitted with a 2.5-liter V6 engine that churns 218 hp and 187 pound-feet of torque. The 3.7-liter engine of the G37 produces 100 hp more, but the G25 has a few weight advantages, but not that relevant.
With its 2.5-liter V6 engine, the Infiniti G25 will do the 0-60 mph sprint in 7.6 seconds and it will need about 15.7 seconds for the quarter-mile trap which will occur at 90.9 mph. As far as real road conditions, the car does a pretty good job, without standing out in any category. The acceleration of the G25 feels more than adequate; the gear changes are quite smooth and fast, with the same 7-speed automatic gearbox as the one found in the G37. The handling of the car is borderline perfect, making the car pretty enjoyable to drive.
2011 Infiniti G25 Journey
The Infiniti G25 has a curb weight of 3514 lb, divided 53% in the front and 47% in the back. The car will do 20 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. CO2 emissions stand at 0.83 lb/mile. It is certainly one of the good budget-oriented RWD sedans available and Infiniti made a good decision introducing this model. However, taking into consideration that the G27 is only a few thousand dollars away, we are curios to find out if the little brother will gain some fans that are comfortable with a lower engine power and less features.

Infiniti is set to expand its hybrid efforts onto US soil, and has just announced that it will debut the 2012 Infiniti M35 Hybrid at the 2010 LA Auto Show at the end of the year.
The M35 Hybrid is basically just a rebadged Nissan Fuga hybrid, which is set to be launched in the following weeks on the Japanese market.
The new model is set to use a retuned version of the 3.5-liter VQ V6, running on the Atkinson cycle, combined with a 50 kW electric motor, running off a lithium ion battery pack. The motor will sit between the engine and the six-speed automatic gearbox.
The 2012 Infiniti M35 hybrid claims that it will offer V8 power with four-cylinder efficiency, so we’ll just have to wait until the 2010 LA Auto Show to find out if it can deliver.

There have been a few rumors floating around recently concerning Japanese carmaker Infiniti and its desire for a dedicated performance brand, supposedly called Infiniti Performance Line. The division would rival BMW’s M or Mercedes-Benz’s AMG.
Now, it seems that the rumors were right for the most part. The Infiniti Performance Line is real, but isn’t a dedicated sports division. Instead, the IPL badge will appear on specific limited series of sports models, starting off with the IPL G Coupe.
Based on the G37, this new model boasts a revised appearance, with redesigned front and rear fascias, as well as side skirts and a set of 19-inch Graphite wheels. Sports seats were fitted on the inside, as was redesigned trim to match the performance-oriented nature of the special car.
Sadly, you won’t find any big performance boosts, as the IPL G Coupe can output 348 HP with 276 lb-ft of torque. That’s an increase of 18 HP and 6 lb-ft over the stock G37. Handling promises to be improved though, thanks to two new transmissions, a six-speed manual with short-throw shiter or a seven-speed automatic with magnesium paddles. Last but not least, we have a limited slip differential, revised suspensions and an upgraded braking system.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but expect more details as we approach its launch at the end of the year.
