Mercedes-Benz B-Class by Brabus

The all-new Mercedes-Benz B-Class has been launched in the Europe a few weeks ago and the German tuner Brabus has already developed an upgrade program for the small MPV. The outside of the vehicle features a new aero kit that includes a front spoiler which can be attached directly to the standard front bumper, along with a rear apron that houses a diffuser and quad tail pipes.

Mercedes-Benz B-Class by Brabus

Clients are able to choose from one of the five available alloy wheel designs that measure 19 inches and are wrapped around in 225/35 R 19 tires in the front and 255/30 R 19 rubbers at the back. The B-Class is brought 30mm closer to the ground thanks to the installation of a suspension lowering kit that has sports springs which should improve the handling of the car.

Mercedes-Benz Citan heading to IAA Commercial Vehicle Show

Mercedes-Benz Citan

The German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has previewed the other day a brand new entry-level van named Citan which will make its official debut this September at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show. They’ve come up with the “Citan” designation by combining the words “city” and “titan”. Clever, right?

Anyway, when this will be launched in the production version it is going to be the fourth model in the company’s commercial vehicle family, joining the Vito (2.77 to 3.2 tons), Sprinter (3.0 to 5.0 tons) and the Vario (6.0 to 8.2 tons).

Mercedes-Benz Citan

The Citan will be available as a crewbus, a panel van and also a mixed-use vehicle. Just as the rest of the models we’ve mentioned, the Citan will be sold in a wide variety of weights and lengths. We don’t have any details regarding the specifications of the vehicle but we do know that in the engine lineup it will feature low-emission gasoline and diesel engines, along with the company’s BlueEFFICIENCY package.

Mercedes-Benz Citan

Mercedes-Benz is also planning an electric version of the Citan, but we don’t know if it will adapted from the Vito E-Cell or it will be an entirely new one designed specifically for the Citan. We will have more information about the vehicle in September.

The vehicle is expected to be launch shortly after its debut at the IAA Commercial Show in Hanover, Germany.

Mercedes-Benz E300 BlueTEC HYBRID debuts at NAIAS

2013 Mercedes-Benz E300 BlueTec Hybrid

Mercedes unveiled last week at the Detroit Motor Show the most efficient E-Class model ever built, which is also the most efficient large executive car out there. Set to go on sale this summer, the car has a 4-cylinder, 2.1-liter diesel engine that generates 201 hp and is boosted by a 20 kW electric motor.

Along with the lithium-ion battery pack, the car is capable of returning 67.3 mpg UK and has CO2 emissions of only 109 g/km, which is considerably better in comparison to the current class leader, the BMW 520d EfficientDynamics (non-hybrid) that returns 62.8 mpg UK and has CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.

However, we should mention that the BMW costs 30,435 pounds while the Mercedes will cost somewhere around 40,000 pounds. We don’t have any official details regarding the performance of the car, but we should expect a 0-62 mph sprint in approximately 7 seconds.

The Mercedes-Benz E300 BlueTEC HYBRID has a stop/start system and a “ sailing mode” where the power unit is switched off when the car is driven up to cruising speed on the highway, thus allowing the aforementioned electric motor power the sedan. This hybrid system will also be available for the estate model and it doesn’t occupy any of the boot space thanks to its compact configuration.

2012 European-spec Mercedes ML63 AMG priced from 108,885 EUR

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG

The German automaker Mercedes-Benz has revealed the other day the price list for the European-spec ML63 AMG. Set to arrive on the old continent this April, the high performance SUV will set you back at least 108,885 EUR. This means that it will cost more than the BMW X5M (106,400 EUR) and less than the BMW X6M (109,000 EUR).

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG

The ML63 AMG is motivated by a bi-turbo V8 5.5-liter engine that develops 525 hp (386 kW) at 5,250 rpm and a peak torque of 700 Nm available between 1,750 and 5,000 rpm. With the AMG Performance package that costs 7,021 EUR, the engine pumps out 557 hp @ 5,570 rpm and 760 Nm between 2,000 rpm and 5,000 rpm. The SUV needs 4.8 seconds to do the 0-62 mph sprint, while with the Performance Package it can do it in 4.7 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h).

Hybrid Mercedes E-Class heading to Detroit Motor Show

Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID

The German automaker Mercedes-Benz will be bringing to the upcoming Detroit Motor Show the hybrid version of the E-Class. At the show which will be organized in January we’ll see the E300 BlueTec that will be available in both sedan and estate versions. Under its hood it will be a 4-cylinder 2.1-liter turbocharged diesel engine. The carmaker will also be bringing the U.S.-only E400 which is powered by a gasoline engine.

The Mercedes-Benz E300 BlueTec has CO2 emissions of only 109 g/km, which is 40 g/km less than the gasoline-powered BMW Active5 Hybrid. Its diesel engine is capable of developing 201 hp and a peak torque of 369 lb.-ft, and it is linked to a 27 hp / 184 lb.-ft brushless electric motor which is installed inside the gearbox housing.

The 0.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack will be able to provide an all-electric range of less than a mile at speeds below 35 mph. The car should be able to do the 0-62 mph sprint in a decent 7.5 seconds and will be able to hit a top speed of 150 mph.

The E300 BlueTec will be capable of returning 67.3 mpg UK on the combined cycle, thanks to a series of fuel-saving techniques, like brake energy recuperation, stop/start system, low rolling resistance tires and a sailing mode. This means that the car will be 9.6 mpg UK more economical than the current E250 CDI sedan.

As far as the aforementioned U.S.-only E400 is concerned, this one will have a V6 3.5-liter engine linked to the same electric motor as the one in the E300. The car will be able to deliver 32.4 mpg US.

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG introduced before L.A. Show

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG

The third generation of the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG has been unveiled before the car’s official debut this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The first generation was introduced back in 1999 and since then the German automaker has managed to sell 24,000 units.

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG

The latest iteration of the model is motivated by a new V8 bi-turbo 5.5-liter engine that generates 518 hp and 516 lb.-ft (700 Nm) for the U.S.-spec model, which is 15 hp and 44 lb.-ft more than the model it replaces. The SUV can be ordered with the optional AMG Performance Package that increases the power of the engine to an impressive 550 hp and a maximum torque of 560 lb.-ft (759 Nm).

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG

According to Mercedes-Benz, the new ML63 AMG needs only 4.7 seconds in order to reach 62 mph from start, but if you order it with that Performance Package it will do it in 4.6 seconds. The top speed for the regular model is electronically limited to 155 mph, while the one with the optional package can reach a maximum speed of 174 mph. The estimated fuel consumption of the sporty SUV is 16 mpg (14.7 liters / 100 km or 19.2 mpg UK).

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG

The new generation of the ML63 AMG features a permanent AWD system that distributes the power at a ratio of 40:60, and it is mated to a regular AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS seven-speed automatic gearbox that features three driving modes: C – Controlled Efficiency (improved fuel economy), S – Sport, and M – Manual. The German automaker mentioned that the car’s standard ECO stop/start function is active only when in C driving mode.

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG

A novelty for the car would have to be that the AMG sports suspension with ARMATIC Air Suspension, automatic level control, independent damper struts and ADS – Adaptive Damping System is combined with the company’s proprietary ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM that packs active stabilizers on both axles in order to compensate for body roll during cornering.

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG

The stopping power is provided by the perforated and ventilated brake discs available on all corners, and the SUV also comes with an electromechanical AMG speed-sensitive sport steering that provides speed-based power assistance.

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG

As far as the design is concerned, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG comes with a new full bodykit that includes front + rear bumpers, wider front fenders, side skirts, bespoke quad tail pipes and a new design for the massive 20-inch rims that are covered by 265/45 R20 high performance tires. As an option, customers can choose the bigger 21-inch AMG alloys that are wrapped around in 295/35 R 21 tires.

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG

Inside the cabin, the car comes with new sport seats covered in leather, a 4-spoke performance steering wheel, a bespoke instrument cluster that has a color TFT monitor, AMG main menu, AMG welcome logo, plus a bunch of aluminum trim accents.

Mercedes CL 600 by Brabus revealed

Brabus 800

For their latest project, the tuners from Brabus have decided to develop an upgrade program for the very sleek Mercedes-Benz CL 600 which they’ve turned into “the world’s fastest and most powerful luxury coupe.”

Brabus 800

The first thing that they have done is take the twin-turbo V12 5.5-liter engine and tuned it with their own crankshaft that has a longer stroke, larger pistons and an increased cylinder bore. This engine’s displacement has been raised to 6.3-liters and they also added four camshafts and they fine-machined the two cylinder head of the V12 to improve the mixture flow.

Brabus 800

The list of modifications continues with replacing the standard twin turbos of that V12 with high-performance turbochargers that have custom exhaust manifolds with built-in turbine housings. In addition, Brabus installed not one, but four water-to-air intercoolers in order to keep the temperatures down to a minimum, along with a bonnet-integrated carbon fiber ram air intake. They also replaced the coupe’s exhaust system with a brand new stainless steel one that has free-flow catalysts.

Brabus 800

Thanks to this extensive list of modifications, the Mercedes-Benz CL 600 by Brabus develops a whopping 800 hp and a peak torque of 1,047 lb.-ft (1,420 Nm). The torque is actually limited to “only” 811 lb.-ft (1,100 Nm) so that it doesn’t harm the engine. With so much power under its hood, the sexy coupe is able to do the 0-62 mph sprint in only 3.9 seconds, and it needs 10.3 seconds to hit 124 mph from start. It is able to reach a maximum speed of 217 mph (350 km/h).

Brabus 800

The entire horsepower is sent to the wheels in the back through a reinforced 5-speed automatic gearbox. The suspension of the car has been modified and now the car is 25mm lower. It rides on 295/25 ZR 21 tires in the back and packs a limited slip differential that has a 40% locking rate. To stop the car efficiently, Brabus has also installed a beefier braking system so in the front it has 405 mm vented and cross-drilled discs that have 6-piston calipers while at the back it has 380 mm discs with 4-piston calipers.

Brabus 800

Rounding up the tuning for the CL 600 is a new body kit along with Alcantara and leather for the interior cabin.

Brabus 800

Those who are interested in this tuning program can either get it as a brand new car or it can be retro-fitted to the CL 600 that you have, regardless of the generation.

Spy Shots – Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series

We’ve been wondering when Mercedes-Benz will launch the ultimate version of its SLS AMG. Apparently we don’t have to wait much longer for the Black Series version of the car because a prototype was spied by the guys from Autocar on the Nurburgring track. The car is scheduled to go on sale in 2013 and it should cost 50% more than the regular coupe which is available for 168,395 pounds in the UK so you’d better start saving money right away.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series

According to Autocar, the German automaker decided to make the Black Series version of the SLS back in 2006 when the development of the AMG variant begun. When it will come out it will have a rather dramatic bodykit, featuring a big fixed rear wing, a rear diffuser, front splitter and more cooling on the hood, along with a wider track. We’ve already seen a similar bodykit on the SLS GT3 racer that was exhibited last year during the New York motor show.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series

Company insiders have revealed that the V8 6.2-liter engine of the SLS AMG will be able to develop around 600 hp and a peak torque of 500 lb.-ft. when the Black Series version will be launched. Some of the tweaks that will be implemented in the ultimate SLS will be a higher compression ratio, a larger air manifold, along with reprofiled camshafts. Also included will be a mechanical locking differential, while the engine will be linked to a dual-clutch, 7-speed gearbox in order to handle the additional torque.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series

Aside from the bodykit and the mechanical improvements, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series will lose 50kg and it will have an improved aerodynamic package, which should be enough for a 0-62 mph sprint time in only 3.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 208 mph. The regular SLS needs 3.8 seconds to hit 62 mph while its top speed is of “only” 197 mph.

Ladies, I know you can barely manage your enthusiasm of seeing George Clooney. It almost doesn’t matter that much that he is not alone, but accompanied by a woman, a Chinese woman. Any woman imagines it could be her in that Mercedes E Class limo, surrounded by luxury and style.

That’s probably the scenario in which any woman would want to appear, especially with George Clooney driving them through the city and ending the evening taking dinner into a restaurant, with a panoramic view over the city. That’s romantic and definitely special, for any of us:

Who do you like more: the Mercedes-Benz E Class limo or George Clooney?

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Spied

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Known internally under the codename W222, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been spied by the guys from Carscoop, before the car will be launched in the 2013 calendar year. The limousine will be built on an entirely new platform and will be available in both SWB and LWB versions, along with RWD and AWD configurations.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The flagship model of the company will be offered with either new or updated V6, V8 and V12 gasoline engines as well as 4-cylinder or V6 diesels. Most likely, plug-in variants of the new S-Class are also under development at Mercedes. All of the variants of the model will get an automatic gearbox as standard. After the launch of the model we will probably see the replacements for the hotter S63 and S65 AMG versions.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

From these spy shots we can safely say that the upcoming model will not be revolutionary as far as the design is concerned, but more of an evolution of the current model. Mercedes G65 AMG Seen In Dubai

Mercedes G65 AMG

We probably won’t have to wait much longer until Mercedes-Benz officially introduces its new G65 AMG as three units were spotted in Dubai. As you can see, the car looks pretty much the same like the older models, with the exception of the more aggressive front bumper, the revised grille and the bigger air intakes, while the side mirrors now have a different design.

Mercedes G65 AMG

Inside the cabin, we can see that the interior has been considerably improved and it has a new instrument cluster with a speedometer that goes all the way up to 320 km/h. Also new is the center console which features a revised command controller and gear knob, while the steering wheel and the center stack have been upgraded.

Mercedes G65 AMG

Most likely, the new Mercedes-Benz G65 AMG will feature a massive V12 6.0-liter engine that should churn 612 hp and approximately 1,000 Nm of torque. This is considerable more than the G55 AMG which has a V8 5.5-liter with “only” 507 and a peak torque of 700 Nm.

Mercedes G65 AMG

According to various sources, the German automaker will roll out only 200 units of the G65 AMG and each of them will cost about 250,000 Euros. The car is most likely scheduled to be unveiled in January at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show.

Mercedes G65 AMG

This won’t be the first time when Mercedes-Benz has installed a V12 engine in a G-Class as they’ve done it before in 2002 when they fitted the G63 AMG with such a power unit that developed 444 hp and 620 Nm of torque. That car was able to do the 0-62 mph sprint in 6.5 seconds, en route to an electronically limited top speed of 210 km/h.
