Seat Ibiza Bocanegra ST arriving at Worthersee

Seat isn’t arriving at the upcoming Worthersee Tour empty handed, as the Spanish carmaker, part of the Volkswagen Group, has revealed that it will bring forth a Bocanegra version of the recently revealed Ibiza ST station wagon.

As you can tell by the name, the new project will take styling cues from the older Bocanegra concept and the special edition made last year for the regular Ibiza (pictured above). From what we can tell, the upgraded Ibiza will boast a special two-tone paint, with black accents in the front as well as on the exterior mirror housings. The special black tone will also be used for the front grille and on the roof of the Ibiza Bocanegra ST.

For the inside, the Spanish carmaker added sports seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel and aluminum sports pedals. The whole package is rounded off with a set of enlarged wheels.

Besides the Seat Ibiza Bocanegra ST, the company will also present other accessories for models like the Leon.

Seat presents the Ibiza ST

Seat, after teasing its fans with last year’s IBZ concept, has finally revealed the newest variant of its popular Ibiza B segment hatchback, the Ibiza Sport Tourer (ST), which will, of course, cater to the wagon market.

The new model sports a very interesting design, filled with many subtle touches which make the ST a great choice if you’re in the market for a new wagon model. Add in the three petrol and three diesel engines, with power ranging from 70 to 105 HP, and you’ll be pretty happy.

Even though it suffered quite a few changes from the gorgeous IBZ concept, including a tone down of the rear light cluster, the side panels and the front arches, not to mention the headlamps, the new Seat Ibiza ST will make a lasting impression on the many people who will be attending the Geneva Motor Show this March.

Seat Ibiza Bocanegra, Leon Cupra and Exeo to debut in Catalunya WRC rally

Now don’t get too excited, as the cars mentioned above will only act as safety cars in order for the organizers to test out the special stages of the rally and see if they are up to par with the safety regulations from the WRC.

Seat surprises everyone and unveils the Ibiza Bocanegra production version in Barcelona

In what comes as a huge surprise, Seat has announced the debut of the Seat Ibiza Bocanegra production version, during the press days at the Barcelona International Motor Show. The Bocanegra Concept was first unveiled last year at the Geneva Motor Show and it previewed the new generation Ibiza. However, nobody was expecting the car, which looked awesome, to make it into production.

The car, which is also a tribute to Seat’s original Bocanegra, the 1200 Sport, which debuted in Spain in 1975, is very similar to the concept, Seat deciding to keep the black styling elements at its nose (black double headlights, central grille with honeycomb mesh and black surround including air vents). The front bumper, which also incorporated fog lights, combines black with the body color and is bigger at the bottom and over the wheel arches, giving the car a very aggressive look. At the back, the Bocanegra received honeycomb mesh on the side grids, new spoiler, chuncky wheel arches and a tinted rear window, plus a large “Bocanegra” badge on the rear hatch. The sporty look is completed by black door mirror housings, dark tinted sunroof and 17-inch Sira alloys.

On the interior, the “angry” Ibiza got a special three-spoke steering wheel, sports seats upholstered with special fabric, gloss black trim, aluminium-clad pedals and the Bocanegra logo on the instrument panel.

Under the hood, Seat will offer the Ibiza Bocanegra with the twin charged 1.4 liter TSI engine, available with 150 and 180 hp power output, mated to a seven-speed DSG gearbox with paddle shifts mounted on the steering wheel.

Seat hasn’t announced when the Bocanegra will go on sale or how much it will cost, but we’re definitely really excited about the car which promises to be one of the coolest and most fun to drive small cars around. And check out the photos, doesn’t it look amazing?
