Toyota recalls 55,000 floor-mats |

Toyota is planning to recall about 55,000 floor-mats because of about 40 complaints reports about the all-weather floor-mats not being secured and slipping under the acceleration pedal. You might find this funny, but this caused 8 crashes and 12 people were injured.

This problem affects floor mats sold with the Lexus ES 350 and the 2007/08 Toyota Camry, but also if you own a Toyota Prius, Avalon, RAV4 and Tacoma, make sure you check if your floor-mats are properly are properly secured. The most dangerous situations are those occurred at the Lexus ES 350 because the car has push-button ignition, so if you have any troubles you can’t just turn the engine off by turning the key. The floor-mats will be replaced in November.
