US 2011 BMW 3 Series facelift details leaked before Detroit announcement |

The upcoming Detroit Auto Show will be host to several big announcements, from all the major carmakers. It seems that according to a recent report, the 2011 facelifts of the BMW 3 Series Coupe and Convertible have been leaked ahead of time, and they include quite a lot of interesting things.

It seems that the two body styles will be receiving a revamped front fascia, including LED lights and a sportier look. Other changes will be made to the 335i editions, which in case they’ll be mated to the Sport or the M Sport Packages, will receive a set of 19-inch wheel, instead of the regular 18-inch ones. Those of you which will opt for an automatic gearbox will also be happy to hear that paddle shifters will now be included as standard. In terms of style, Anthracite Bamboo will be a new trim line, and will join a new color option as well.

But the biggest news is that BMW will be reviving the “is” badge for the two models, and will be pinned to variants which have either the DCT or the Sport Automatic transmission and a unique styling choice, complete with a new aerodynamic body kit. On the inside, the “is” editions will be receiving the M Sport package for the interior, and a few power enhancements, for the engine under the bonnet.
