The 2011 Ford Mustang has certainly become extremely popular ever since it was announced that it will be packing improved engines, including a new 5.0-liter V8.
Now, in order to satisfy those who want even more power squeezed from the Blue Oval muscle car, Ford has partnered with Formula Drift’s Vaughn Gittin Jr. for a special RTR performance package for the ’11 ‘Stang.
Don’t go thinking that these are just cosmetic improvements, as besides the special 19-inch RTR wheels, wrapped in Falken FK452 performance tires, you’ll be getting an improved suspension system, that lowers the Mustang by 1.5 inches, a larger rear sway bar, as well as cross-drilled brake rotors.
The 5.0-liter V8 engine hasn’t seen big improvements, but thanks to a new K&N air filter, a Ford Racing ECU remap and a revised exhaust system, 9 more HP were added, taking the total to 421 HP.
The visual impact of the 2011 Ford Mustang RTR is augmented by a new front splitter, an aluminum spoiler plus special graphics. For the inside, RTR badges were added.
The cost for the Vaughn Gittin Jr.-approved RTR package for the 2011 Ford Mustang 5.0 V8? Just $7,895. A version for the V6 ‘Stang is also in the works, but won’t appear anytime soon.
