Video: BMW shows off its ActiveE electric concept in Detroit | Rpmgo.com

BMW has just released a video, shot on location at the Detroit Auto Show this year, in which it shows off its newly announced ActiveE electric concept, which is based on the 1 Series coupe model.

For those of you who might have forgotten, the concept is part of the Project i initiative, alongside the Mini E model. It uses an electric motor, placed on the rear axle, which develops 170 HP and 184 lb-ft of torque, taking the car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than nine seconds, and up to an electronically-limited 90 mph.

Hit the jump to see the BMW ActiveE electric concept being showcased at the Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS).
